I really don't like to do this to other professing evangelical Christian organizations, but it is time to sound the alarm. Sadly, it is quite evident that the online publication for Focus on the Family founded by Dr. James Dobson can't tell the difference between a Bible believing Christian versus a Mormon: http://www.citizenlink.org/
Here's is Glenn Beck's testimony of his conversion to Mormonism: http://www.sliceoflaodicea.
I said all of that to say this: I strongly discourage you from giving money to any religious organization that is so committed to a social agenda that they are willing to ignore the vast difference between biblical Christianity and the cult of Mormonism. They use Mr. Beck's story as a way to show that hope can be found in God, which is true enough; the problem is that Mr. Beck's god is not the Triune God of the Bible nor is his Jesus the Jesus of the Bible. Mr. Beck's Jesus is a created being that is the spirit brother of Satan. The true Jesus, the Jesus of the Bible has always been God and has always been worshipped as Yahweh (Isaiah 6:1-8 cf. John 12:41). Here's a great overview of the cult of Mormonism if your interested: http://www.watchman.org/
When Christians yoke up with unbelievers in order to promote a common social agenda, we display a gross lack of discernment, feed religious pluralism, and end up doing all kinds of weird and sinful things in hopes of restoring the Andy Griffith moralism of the 1950s rather than simply being faithful to the command of 2 Corinthians 6:14-18,
Do not be bound together with unbelievers; for what partnership have righteousness and lawlessness, or what fellowship has light with darkness? 15 Or what harmony has Christ with Belial, or what has a believer in common with an unbeliever? 16 Or what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, "I WILL DWELL IN THEM AND WALK AMONG THEM; AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE. 17 "Therefore, COME OUT FROM THEIR MIDST AND BE SEPARATE," says the Lord. "AND DO NOT TOUCH WHAT IS UNCLEAN; And I will welcome you. 18 "And I will be a father to you, And you shall be sons and daughters to Me," Says the Lord Almighty.
